Don’t be afraid to be happy. Be afraid of being bitter, neurotic, addicted or perverse – the four possible futures of those who cannot be, to some extent, happy.
However, do not seek happiness in fantasies. See it within yourself, as a search and accomplishment of the ideal, even if it is merely in its indefinite quest.
